Natalie Portman's Shaved Head - Me + Yr Daughter
Natalie Portman's Shaved Head's debut album Glistening Pleasure explodes with high energy, dirty beats, and sometimes humorously ridiculous lyrics (as in Beard Lust). All I can say about this track is... well, if I were to ever consider participating in an amateur drag show, this would be my performance song of choice. I'll leave you with that scorching mental image and attempt to win back your respect at another time.

Battle

It has been a quiet year from Patrick Wolf. After releasing his album the Magic Position in February 2007 he has spent some time touring, playing festivals, and writing new music for his upcoming album Battle. The forthcoming album will be produced by Alec Empire of Atari Teenage Riot and Digital Hardcore fame. Epic.

"So, with my label, there are two ways to go about things. The dangerous route, that many are taking is to take money from city investors… and then basically they have a huge share in your band and a say or filter on your creative output – basically like being on a major label. Or, the second option is "Bandstocks" which to me sounds the most exciting, and is the route I have chose.

Basically, anyone can invest in a share of the album soon to be released. The more people that invest, the better the packaging, the better the mastering, the bigger the budget for videos and tours etc… the more fantastic the album is… the bigger the tribe… the bigger the battle, and bigger the victory in my language. The One

Does anyone feel like dancing? I have an album for you. Shinichi Osawa's The One. This DJ and former Bassist of Mondo Grosso has taken the European club scene by storm by putting out solid drum lines, warbling a plenty, and a slew of remixes to many popular songs. I listened to The One while driving around yesterday and man did I feel great.

Osawa has done a little work with Digitalism, Felix Da Housecat, and Ayumi Hamasaki.

As a Bloc Party listener, I'll check out practically any remix of their music. Especially Helicopter. The song takes a completely different tone in this one. Steve Aoki is an editing genius which is obvious after listening to three or more tracks from the meticulous album Pillowface And His Airplane Chronicles.
